The month formally known as November
Today is the first day of Movember, as in *mo* for moustache. Every November, men across the world come together to grow a bit of facial hair for a cause that has recently become much more dear to my heart: prostate cancer.
From the Movember website:
"The rules are simple, start Movember 1st clean-shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month. The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for prostate cancer. Much like the commitment to run or walk for charity, the men of Movember commit to growing a moustache for 30 days."
The bad news about prostate cancer:
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer to afflict Canadian men.
The good news:
Over 90% of prostate cancer cases are curable if detected and treated in their earliest stages.
By bringing attention to this far-too-common disease, hopefully more men will get tested earlier and funds will be raised to help with research and education.
Now, don't worry, I won't try growing a 'stache this month, but I did recruit my brother to join the movement. I'll keep you updated on his *growth*. To find out more and/or support the cause visit Prostate Cancer Canada.

yay for movember and for your bro for getting into it!
karim is taking part this year as well.
Love that you're spreading the word...not everyone is attractive with their mustaches but for a good cause, who cares what you look like?! :)
