When it was announced that he was indeed the winner I cried tears of joy, knowing that my soon-to-arrive son would be born into a world that was changing...for the better.
Even though we no longer live in the US, we still have so many ties to the country and may live there once again. Either way, living during this time of incredible change brings me so much hope and joy for the future of our world.

After reading your post I re-read this letter from Obama to his children from Parade Magazine.
Reminds me why I respect him so much.

Obama was in Madison, WI (my city!) on this day--his one year anniversary. He was here to give a speech at one of our middle schools and unfortunately it wasn't open to the public, but I did see clips of it on the news. I thought it was so neat!
